Safeguard Employee Hearing: Sound Sampling by WorkSafe USA

Our Services

Protect your employees from noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and ensure regulatory compliance with WorkSafe USA's comprehensive sound sampling services.

OSHA requires noise monitoring “when information indicates that any employee’s exposure may equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels, the employer shall develop and implement a monitoring program” in  the 1910.95 standard.

Not only will our sampling fulfill this requirement and help you determine whom, if anyone, should be in a HCP, but it will also be a non-biased third party report.

HOW TO?

How WorkSafe USA Conducts Sound Sampling:

Worksafe-USA uses dosimeters to determine exposure levels as it pertains to the hearing conservation program.

  • Samples can be taken by way of an area or on the personnel.
  • The dosimeters used are able to calculate an 8-hour Time Weighted Average (TWA) no matter how long the sample is run. This is used to help calculate the exposure level of any individual and to determine whether or not that individual should be in the Hearing Conservation Program (HCP).

Sound samples are necessary when machinery is moved or if equipment is added. Additionally, it is considered good practice to have samples taken every 3-5 years due to wear and tear of equipment.

  • Reports will give the maximum decibel level during the sample along with the location of the sample and the TWA.
